Hey there, so nice to meet you! I'm Carissa.
I’m Carissa R. Douglas, the Owner, and CEO of A New Beginning to Wellness, and I am delighted to have you here. I struggled to overcome my own cancer and unexpected infections – against many odds – as well as feelings of loneliness afterward. Now I want to be the one by your side, guiding you through recovery and into a better life.
I know what it’s like to be scared, confused, and frustrated even though my labs indicated I was cancer free. My digestive system was a mess. My oncologist gave me a few tips on eating healthier and exercising. But I didn’t have the energy or really know how to start. It just seemed overwhelming and unrealistic at the time.
Thankfully, my personal experience as a cancer survivor gave me a profound understanding of the challenges and triumphs that survivorship involves. This inspired me to explore and pursue a different approach to cancer and health. A holistic approach addressing my body, mind, and spirit – and more specifically nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and attitude – helped me recover and live a full life again.
Now as a Certified Health Coach, Board Certified Holistic Health Practitioner, and Cancer Exercise Specialist, I’m here to guide you in your post-cancer journey toward recovering your well-being, energy, and vibrant life.
